Thanks for writing this Emily. I don't have the words yet to express how sad I am but I've cried all day. He held the door open for our people and it was everything 💔

Such a sad sad day. It is a wonderful maiden speech. He gave it just last week. So much experience, so much to give. What a huge loss for his family, his friends, his fellow Greens, his community. And the rest of us.

Terrible news. I was looking forward to seeing what Efeso would do next as a Green MP. Auē

Absolutely tragic. Devastating for his family and what a loss for our country.

And I'm going to be *that* person and say it - meanwhile, Seymour, Peters, and Luxon continue to draw breath. Proof that the world isn't fair.

I had to skim that so I wouldn't start sobbing. So gutted for his whanau and community, and everyone else. He was such a positive and genuine force, a great role model, smart and articulate, the exact kind of person we should all want as a politician. RIP Efeso, much love to your whanau

Kia Ora Emily. A terrible day, but what a contribution he made in his 49 years. Vale Efeso.

So devastated by this news. He was brilliant, and so loved and respected by everybody at Auckland Council. It’s not often we actually get principled and kind politicians.
