Sorry for the typo mates! I've updated it but in case it didn't update for you - it should read: It is an attempt to use Parliament's power to weaken our country’s constitutional foundation and to undermine the role of the courts.

This is a fantastic guide and will result in effective but also individualised submissions, thank you! Might have been a word or two missing in the first and third bullet point, might have been me multitasking. Forwarding it all over the place so lots of new eyes coming…and it’ll be part of my standard holiday even chit chat this year! Hate small talk, love being armed with something useful to talk about😊

Yes you absolutely can submit and it will help! Explain that you live overseas and then explain why it matters to you ❤️ this bill is bigger than just Aotearoa - we know the world is watching ❤️

42 King’s Counsel lawyers have written a joint letter to Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Attorney General Judith Collins to “express grave concerns about the Treaty Principles Bill”, and seeking its “abandonment”.

Perhaps this is an important point to raise in our submissions?

When our government is ignoring the unanimous advice of 42 Kings Counsel lawyers, lawyers whose job it is to provide robust expert legal opinions to government - that is an extremely concerning situation.

“The committee intends to make further decisions about the submissions process and will communicate these publicly when they are agreed. For example, the committee intends to consider and resolve criteria for submissions that will not be accepted in terms of offensive language. The committee is conscious that the bill is controversial, and intends to facilitate a measured debate.”. WT* ??

42 King's Counsel lawyers submitted a unanimous legal opinion seeking its "abandonment".

Yeah. Damn straight the GOVERNMENT'S DECISION to progress the bill is ABSOLUTELY CONTROVERSIAL.
