Dear Nanaia,

Thank you for your mahi in supporting the people of Ukraine on behalf of Aotearoa. I write to you to join calls for Aoteaora to impose strong and swift sanctions against Russia. 

I call for humanitarian aid and assistance to be sent to Ukraine in the form of financial aid, food, water, and medicines for civilians as soon as possible.

I also ask that we open our doors to any refugees or asylum seekers from Ukraine.

I ask the New Zealand Government to do whatever is in its power to freeze and confiscate the assets and property of Russian oligarchs in our country. I ask that the government support any moves to remove Russia from SWIFT and MSCI. I And to support the exclusion of Russian bonds from key J.P. Morgan fixed income benchmarks.

I also ask that the Government review any investments that hold Russian assets.
