Thank you Lyn (deleted my other comment because of a typo but now it looks weird!)

Life needs connection to feel like it's complete. We rescued a kitten in November and she came I to our lives when we so desperately needed something to keep us all connected. With my daughter doing through diagnosis and exasperation of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, we were all searching for something to ground us. Help us connect to something other than our reality. Lil Kat was and is that something. She calms my emotionally disregulated family, on an individual level, every single day.

These are the mental health benefits so many people struggle to afford in their lives due to rental discrimination against pets. Those that need solace the most are regulated against being allowed it.

So true - I absolutely believe everyone should be able to have a pet. There's something about that trust and love that reaches through all of the bad things x

I'm so sorry you lost a loved one. As much as I admire the technology to watch a funeral online I know when my best friends dad died and we couldn't be there, to be able to at least join and share online was so good but so emotional, I needed a tea towel to cope with the tears

It's so hard and sad.

Beautiful - I felt this so much, we lost my great aunt last month who was like a Nana to us as she never married or had children, we were her family. As she and we are in Auckland we had been optimistically delaying having a funeral but now we are going to go ahead with 10 people and streaming the service and I know I am going to sob my face off, but also it will be cathartic to let it out as it has been hard being in a holding pattern these past few weeks. Big hugs for you and your healing heart ♥️

I'm so sorry for your loss, Emily. I can't imagine what its like to have to watch the funeral on a screen like that. Also wow that is an adorable cat you've got there. He looks a lot like our cat Major Tom when he was young. He's now an old man cat - he's eleven.

Major Tom is a great name for a cat.

Love and hugs Emily, it's a different world and we are adapting to it. 'We are all doing the best we can' says my friend Liora - we are two of three 'merry' widows, two and a half years on from the death of our men. We allow and acknowledge that sometimes our best falls way short of who we were 'before' - we continue xxx
